Well I officially had my first ‘Pinspiration’ fail. Big time. I suppose it would be too good to be true if every single project I attempted actually turned out to be something I loved.
My idea, inspired by this pin, was to somehow create a piece of artwork with 1 Corinthians 2:9 on it.
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him”
I remembered seeing a pretty fabulous frame at the thrift store that I should have snagged because when I went back it was gone. So I tried attempted to make my own frame and artwork. I gave it my all, wasted literally hours, stressed about it WAY more than I should have and finally thought to myself this morning why work so hard on something I don’t LOVE? I freed myself and moved on to the next Pinspiration.
Ahhhh…much better
“Hello, my name is Jennifer and I am addicted to decorating my daughters bedroom.”
As I mentioned before, this is my Grandmothers vanity that I painted so that Grace could use it. She loves it. But I always felt the mirror needed a little something…extra. When I found this picture on Pinterest I knew what I wanted to do.
I had these silk flowers leftover from Grace’s Lollipops birthday party from when she turned 3 (the pinwheels above the mirror are also from the party). I decided to spray paint them with a ‘pearl mist’ color that I bought a long time ago not realizing it was so sheer. I couldn’t use it back then but it was perfect to give the flowers a little sparkle.
Next I just glued them on with hot glue! I figured if I hated it it would come off easy enough without leaving any damage behind.
Again here’s the before
And the after
And to think I’m still not done in this room…I know I know.
