Picture this.

We picked up Grace from preschool today and the 5 of us headed out to do some shopping.  First to the Sprint store, then to Home Depot to pick up some materials for what was intended to be this post.  Then we headed to Sam’s Cub to do some grocery shopping.

It’s now past noon so we take advantage of the free samples and call it lunch (oh come on, don’t pretend you haven’t!) We are out of just about everything so it’s a pretty major trip.  Grace and Jack can’t decide if they want to be in the cart, on the cart or running circles around the cart.  Poor Luke just has this constant look of desperation because he’s just dying to join them.

We finally leave the store, each child with their ‘picture’ that the lady who checks the receipt drew for them and the wind blows Jack’s out of his hand.  WHAM! – our window of good behavior has officially slammed shut and Jack just bursts into tears right there in the parking lot.

We make it to the car and Jared goes on the hunt for Jack’s piece of paper.  Meanwhile the kids pile in and inevitably, they both decide they want the middle carseat. Simultaneous meltdown of epic proportion insues.

And I start giggling.

Because sometimes, I’m completely convinced that I’ve lost my mind and giggling is definitely acceptable.

We finally make it home, Luke is passed out, Grace and Jack are zombie-like and I turn to Jared and ask “Do we have to get out?”  It’s warm, cozy and the kids are strapped in – a little slice of heaven.

If you’re a parent of ‘littles’ go ahead and raise your hand here if you agree with me, loading and unloading the car is madness!!!

Yep, I see all of your hands.  And your fiercely nodding heads too.

So what does this have to do with anything?  Um, nothing really.  Just that I had intended to post another DIY project today (hence the trip to HD) but there was clearly no ‘DIY’ing today.

So instead I’m posting some of my recent photos that were inspired by this photo that I found on Pinterest.

A couple of weeks ago we took the kids to ‘Turtle Park’ in our neighborhood.  I was having fun getting some shots of my littlest man swinging:

Honestly, this kid chews on EVERYthing.  Working on a strong immune system right?

With my Pinspiration photo in mind, I decided to change my point of view.  I literally got down on the ground in the sand.  And here’s what I saw each time he ‘swung’ my way:

Proof that a smile is in the eyes

Sweet hands

Giggle

Gas?

Thanks Luke.  I know I’m such a mamarazzi, you’re a good sport.

Have you taken any pictures from a unique angle/perspective?  I would love to see them!  Post them on my Facebook Page
