Recently, as I was shopping for my sister’s baby shower gift, I realized I had no feelings of nostalgia or longing as I walked through Babies R Us. That is, until I got to the books. As I picked out each one I had a hard time not loading my cart with just as many for my own kids. I realized in that moment how much I love to read to the kids, how I never want that to end even though I know someday it will.
I’ve seen some awesome book quote printables on Pinterest and Etsy so I was inspired to make my own from some of our favorites to read.
‘Little Blue Truck’
Have you read this one? Jared and I might actually love it more than the kids…it’s too cute. For this printable I actually took a picture of this page in the book but to get the right crop I needed add the words myself (I used picmonkey!).
‘I Love You Stinky Face’
Confession here, this might have snuck into my shopping cart that day. It’s actually a Christmas present for Luke (shhhhh! Don’t tell). This too is just a picture I took (front cover – cropped in).
This one is a must have for all new parents. I love the message and literally can’t get through it (even to this day) without choking up. This is the page that always gets me.
‘On The Night You Were Born’
Seriously, don’t we all need to hear that? I found the picture of the moon online and added the text myself (again in picmonkey).
The other two were also found online (‘Guess How Much I Love You?’ and ‘Where The Wild Things Are’). I printed all of these on a matte paper and framed them in some frames I had stashed in the garage. So this project was free for me! I hung them in the play area of the family room.
What are your favorite quotes from children’s books?
Super cute! We are making a “to the moon and back” canvas to put up in Danny’s room. Very cool.
I can’t wait to see it sis…
Hi, I like your children’s book art very much 🙂 I noticed that you have a typo in “rhyme”, the h and the y are reversed. I had to tell you because I’d want to know, but more so for your child to know the proper spelling 🙂
Joanna – You’re absolutely right! I’ll have to fix that…thank you for letting me know 🙂
